9K gold pendant reads "The Yale Courant 1865" and inscribed on the reverse "Samuel M. Harrington 1906 Chairman", stamped "Dieges & Clust". Samuel Milby Harrington was an officer of the United States Marine Corps with the rank of brigadier general. He is the author of The Strategy and Tactics of Small Wars (1921) and co-author of Small Wars Manual. He graduated from Yale University in 1906.
