Roberto Fabelo (Cuban, b. 1951) charcoal pencil sketch on fluorescent pink paper, depicting a nude woman seated inside a larger than life cooking pot. Signed and dated 2008 in the lower right corner. Fabelo is known for his unique subject matter and experimentation with scale in his compositions. In addition to his notable contemporary sculpture work, he also illustrated a 2007 edition of Gabriel García Márquez's novel Cien años de soledad.
Provenance: From the collection of Cuban sculptor, Fausto Ramos, who also acted as director at the famed Cuban art institute, "San Alejandro" or Escuela Nacional de Bellas Artes, from 1962-1963.
