Todd Szuch (American, contemporary) LED backlit watercolor painting on Yupo paper with epoxy resin. Housed in a custom wooden frame.

Dimensions: 24 x 36 x 5.5"

Todd Szuch is an innovative watercolor painter who is based in Tallahassee, Florida. His journey and inspiration to create art that is relevant and accessible to his audience starts with his own story and unique perspective. At less than a week old, Todd was found on the street in a rural village north of Seoul Korea. He was placed in an orphanage until adopted by American parents living on a Minnesota farm. His adopted mother, who is a painter and author, introduced him to watercolor early in his life. Todd’s passion for watercolor never left him, and his paintings now hang in private homes and businesses around the world.

Best known for his unconventional and experimental watercolor techniques, his latest paintings involve painting on Yupo paper and using epoxy resin. At times these paintings are formed, molded or folded to create sculptural, fluid paintings with backlit illumination using programmable LED lighting. In the past, Todd has painted a wide range styles and subject matter including botanicals, landscapes, portraits and abstracts — always exploring different methods and techniques.
