Green Carpet Fiber from the Titanic with Certificate of Authenticity. An example cut from the same carpet as was laid in the Titanic. At the time the carpet was laid, there was excess. The excess samples were cut and given to crew members. This piece of carpet was given to Frederick Dent Ray, a First Class Dining Saloon Steward. Ray took the sample home to show his wife the nice carpets on the ship. Ray survived the sinking, escaping in lifeboat number 13.
Please be mindful, this is a carpet fiber (not a larger piece of carpet). As outlined below, the carpet fiber is contained in a 2"x2" clear plastic housing. There is also a wooden base (measuring 5.75x6.25") having a printed picture of the larger carpet pattern.
