Spanish-American War Siege of Santiago tokens.

  • Metal token presented to the First District of Columbia Regiment by the citizens of the District of Columbia. Obverse of the token features a soldier holding a rifle and surrounded by palm trees. Above the man is a banner with "Santiago" and on either side of the soldier's legs is a banner with the dates "July 10-17, 1898." Reverse says "From the Citizens of the District of Columbia First District of Columbia Regiment U.S.V." The dates indicate when the regiment fought in the siege. The siege had begun on July 3.
  • Metal token with the obverse of the First District of Columbia Regiment token. Reverse is blank.
  • Circular stone disk featuring a relief of the obverse of the First District of Columbia Regiment token. Does not include the dates.


Condition: Good with some oxidation to metal. Scratches to stone disk.
