Ernesto Gonzalez Puig (Cuban, 1913-1988) mixed media (gouache, ink, and pencil) on paper. Signed in ink in the lower left corner. Puig was a self taught artist who had his first solo exhibition at the age of seventeen. As his career progressed, he became more experimental with his concepts and media. Among his many works, he participated in the collective mural painted in the Pabellón Cuba for the Salón de Mayo, Havana, 1967, in the exhibition Siembra de Primavera (at Casa de las Américas) and in the Panorama del Arte in Cuba.
