Capital "I" infantry button, non-dug, back is blank, 7/8" diameter. Includes information about the button copied from "Record of American Uniform and Historical Buttons Bicentennial Edition" by Alphaeus H. Albert, 1976.
Waist belt plate brass "snake" buckle connector, dug, 1.5" length. Includes information about the connector copied from "Confederate Belt Buckles and Plates Expanded Edition" by Steve E. Mullinax.
Envelope sent from Virginia by Private J.A. Fontaine, 1st Regiment of the Louisiana Volunteers, Company F to Marshall Sharp, Esq. in Mandeville, St. Tammany Parish, Louisiana. Does not include a letter.
Condition:
Patina on button and buckle connector. Envelope is torn and worn from age.
